The Story of
WOOD

There is a wide range of materials and items made from wood or wood-based materials. Wood can be transformed into wood coal through a process known as carbonization or pyrolysis. This involves heating the wood in the absence of oxygen and can be used as a fuel source to generate electricity.

BEFORE RECYCLING

Clean the wood product

Remove any non-paper items like tape and staples

AFTER RECYCLING

Dry the wood if it is in a high moisture

Heated the wood in a kiln or retort at a high temperature with a limited oxygen supply

Cooled and collected the wood coal

Choose suitable types of wood for carbonization
